Book Review: Greatness in Christ

“Living Greatness, the Christ way”

We often measure greatness by fame, success, or achievements, but what if the true measure of greatness is found not in the world but in Christ? The book Greatness in Christ presents a deeper understanding of what true greatness really means. Instead of focusing on worldly accomplishments, the author explains that genuine greatness is found in living a life centered on Jesus Christ. The book reminds us that greatness is not about elevating ourselves but about allowing Christ to transform our lives. When we place Christ at the center of everything we do, our priorities begin to change, and we start to see that true greatness is expressed through humility, service, and faithfulness to God. Reading this book encouraged me to reflect on my own life and recognize that real fulfillment does not come from recognition or achievements, but from living according to God’s purpose.

Throughout the book, the author explains that the journey toward true greatness begins with a personal relationship with Jesus. While the world encourages people to seek fame, power, or success, Christ calls us to live with humility and to serve others with love. When a person surrenders their life to Christ, their perspective begins to change. Instead of seeking recognition, they begin to seek God’s will and strive to live according to His teachings. The book reminded me that the greatness that comes from Christ is not something we achieve through our own efforts, but something that God forms within us as we continue to follow Him.

Another important message in the book is the call to servant leadership. Jesus Himself showed that true greatness is found in serving others. Instead of placing ourselves above others, we are called to care for them and reflect Christ’s love through our actions. The book emphasizes that this kind of greatness can be seen in the small but meaningful choices we make every day—choosing humility, kindness, and love even when it is not easy. This message made me realize that even simple actions, such as listening patiently, helping someone in need, or encouraging a friend, can reflect Christ’s presence in our lives.

As an MFC Youth member, the message of this book strongly connects with my own journey of faith. Reading it inspired me to examine my life more closely and ask myself, “Am I living in a way that truly reflects Christ?” Being part of MFC Youth means growing in faith while also sharing Christ with others. However, as young people, we sometimes face distractions, doubts, and pressures that make it difficult to stay focused on our mission. The book reminded me that staying rooted in Christ is what helps us remain strong in our faith. Through prayer, service, and a deeper relationship with Him, we slowly grow spiritually and become more confident in our mission.

The book also helped me understand that being a youth missionary is not about being perfect or always having strong faith. Instead, it is about choosing to follow Christ every day, even during moments of weakness or uncertainty. As youth missionaries, we are called to be witnesses of God’s love to others. Sometimes the things we do may seem small, such as helping someone, encouraging a friend, or serving in ministry. Yet the book reminds us that even the simplest acts done with love can reflect Christ working within us.

Reading Greatness in Christ made me reflect more deeply on what it truly means to grow in faith. It reminded me that greatness in God’s eyes is quite different from the greatness that the world teaches. True greatness is found in humility, faithfulness, and service to others. The book encouraged me to continue strengthening my relationship with God and to trust that He is slowly shaping my life according to His plan.

In the end, Greatness in Christ reminds us that a life centered on Jesus leads to true fulfillment and purpose. It shows that greatness is not about becoming someone important in the eyes of the world, but about becoming someone faithful to God. When we allow Christ to guide our lives, He gradually transforms our hearts and forms us into the people we are meant to become.
