It is part of our human nature to ask ourselves about our purpose. It is normal for us to find the real reason why we are living. It is for us to fully discover the beauty of life and satisfy our hearts for its missing pieces. Maybe some of us are asking what the purpose of waking up every morning is. What is my life all about? What drives me to do all the things that I keep on doing in my life? Or simply, why am I living? Yes, you do have your reasons to ask these questions, but do you know where to start finding the answers? If not, you must start it with God. Starting to find yourself with God is like knowing how to use a new appliance, you must read the owner’s manual. God is your Creator, and He knows that your purpose is to live life to the fullest.
God created everything with a purpose. The plants, animals, and even each of the stars, do have their unique purpose. God does not create anything without reason. Based on Colossians 1:16, “For by Him, all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Thus, it is in Christ that we find out who we are, and we are made by God and for God. If today you are not living that kind of direction, you will keep on repeatedly asking the reasons why you need to pursue life.
Many people nowadays, especially those who are slowly hitting their youth stage, are at the point of finding their happiness, satisfaction, worth, and the whole purpose of their life. As they continue their journey, they see some purpose that is not ideal to the plans of God but they still believe that those are the things that will completely satisfy their living. The saddest part of this is they forget to seek the most important thing in life, to know God, His grace, mercy, and love. They tend to be disconnected from God. Therefore, they have a heart that is full of worries which makes them afraid to surrender everything because of the reservations they have. God is not after what you can do but after what you become.
Today, my friend, start checking yourself, your lifestyle, and know that you are called to do a mission – a mission that is divinely given to you and is tailor-fitted in your life. As what was told by God in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for your woe, plans to give you a future full of hope.” God wants to remind you that before you get to know Him, He already knew you, and everything is laid down on your way. God sent you to do a mission, do not be afraid for the Lord, our God, will take you through as what He did to all the people who chose to live for and in Him. He even knows when you are worried, afraid, and have doubts about His promises, but it all serves a purpose. Now is the time to go out of your comfort zones and feel how completely comfortable it is to surrender all to God. This mission will make you experience a life like no other, a promising life, and a life that will never be compared to the ordinary happiness that the world can offer.
Let me share with you how my missionary lifestyle leads me to my most beautiful Jesus Christ experience, an encounter of heaven on earth. This mission has brought me to a life that is inspired and an inspiration that keeps me excited to wake up every morning, a reason why I always wanted a life that is worth living for. As I do missions every day, I thought I am the one who will do the mission and bring other people closer to Christ but honestly, God is on a mission for my good. Day by day, God never failed to make me feel that I have this real purpose to live life to its fullest. This work makes me understand that God is everywhere and is always in the hearts of all the people I encounter.
This missionary lifestyle also taught me that God will make my heart pure and my intentions clean – the only way to truly see God in light without any blur and dark spaces. As innocent and pure as a child, this work will make you grow fonder to meet Christ and pursue Him. In this way, you will never be afraid to bring the light into the dark because all you know is you have God, a God who will never forsake you and will always be your stronghold for He, our Lord, is the light we are bringing to other people.
Everything may fade, but His love remains forever. To keep yourself inspired and pure as you do the mission, do not forget to find and seek God in every move you will do. The tiny sparks in your heart will forever glow and will continually grow as you meet Christ in His different forms. These moments are the end of all your worries, doubt, and questions because your true mission is to know that God loves you so much. You should do everything to love Him back and make your relationship with Him even deeper.
In this mission, it is not about what you can give to God. This is about how you can see Him as your personal God. This is one of the ways how we can enter heaven – not our money, material possessions, career nor achievements, but it is who you become after God sent you in this world, after you live like Jesus. The mission we are called to is uneasy. There will be problems and struggles, but after following all His commandments, comfort will come, and it is found in heaven, your eternal rest with the Father. Unworthy as we are, sinners like we have become, unqualified as all the saints, your life has a purpose. Decide every day to choose your mission as God anointed you to so. This mission will make you the best version of yourself and will make you the man or woman God wanted you to be. Find your mission, live like Jesus, and join the unqualified army of God.
