Project 8, Quezon City. — “Gising na ang higante.” –The giant has awoken.
Indeed the statement holds true as the District of Cubao had its first Nehemiah Leadership Weekend in two years last July 19 – 20.
Just this summer, Cubao officially reached district level with a new batch of servants stepping up, since; as the fire of the call for them should keep on burning, what better way to learn more about their calling as the core servants of their district through Nehemiah’s example.
Speakers from the different districts and ministries of YFL eagerly shared to the participants what their new service had in store for them, such as TrenzyRombaoa from High School Based; Richard Repolona from the District of Pasig; DR Arellano and Cathy Quiambao from the District of Cubao; Mac De Leon from the District of Novaliches; Jocas Javier and Kevin Hombrebueno from the District of Antipolo; and Jerald Cruz, a full time worker for No One In Need. Each of them spoke of the challenges, tasks, and most of all, the heart and passion needed for their service.
Not only was it a time for the servants to learn together, but it was also a time for fellowship and getting to know each other through the different activities and workshops held. The Leadership Weekend was held at Project 8, Quezon City where more than 20 of Cubao’s core servants were in attendance.
The waking of the giant of Cubao is only the beginning of the radical plan that God has in store for this district; truly it will be a challenging path ahead to keep the giant awake, but with Nehemiah as their inspiration, and God as their goal, Cubao can only grow bigger and stronger for the Lord.
