“Prayer is so powerful that it could drive out all the demons in me.”
When we were kids up until this present moment of our lives, we were always being reminded of the value of prayer. We acknowledge that it is essential, that we build relationships with the Lord, we communicate, and we say the deepest desires and cries of our hearts through prayer. We also acknowledge that collectively praying for something could make prayer even more powerful. But admit it or not, we may always be present in our prayer time, there will come a time that it is really hard for us to pray.
I could still remember when one of our servants told us, “Pray even harder when it is harder to pray.” and it makes sense, we could only surpass the drought when we constantly choose to remain in His presence. We cannot do this battle alone, we cannot deal with the evil in us, but when we come to pray, it is so powerful that it could make miracles.
In the Gospel of St. Mark, there was a spirit that possessed a child that the disciples could not drive away. The father of the child asked Him why they couldn’t take it away and he asked Jesus to do something about it as he offers the little faith he has. Jesus drove it out and it came out, the disciples were thinking why they couldn’t do it and Jesus said to them, “This kind cannot come out by anything except prayer.” Mark 9:29 NASB Prayer is so powerful that it could drive out all the demons in us. Just like the disciples and the father of the child, sometimes we thought that we can do all things on our own and yet we tend to forget that things could only be done with the grace of God alone. We need to come in prayer, in His presence and ask for the necessary graces for we are just mere instruments, we do not have a hold on how things work, because it is God’s.
