In MV Speaks, Sharing

Today that the world has been so loud and chaos is still arising, we tend to see how dark everything is and we fail to see the light that still continues to bind us. Nowadays, it is much easier to detect a noise than to hear God’s voice.

But, throughout this struggle, one of the things that helped me along the process is journaling.

Here are some of the reasons how journaling leads me closer to the Father:

1. It reminds me how great God is

I am a very forgetful person. In times of trouble, there are times that I opt to listen to the world than to seek God’s voice. And in these moments I forget, journaling helps me release my emotions and thoughts to God and also, listen to what He is letting me realize.

My journal is my written records of how many times God saved me and how God showed how great He is. From grief to grace, from rejections to redirections, from tests to testimonies, He has been there all along. And I know I wouldn’t remember it if it weren’t for my journal. As an ate told me, “words fly but written words remain.”

2. It serves as my coping and healing

Psychologically, journaling provides benefits to the well-being of a person. It helps them release and acknowledge their emotions. It also helps to calm and clear a person’s mind.

If we have Biogesic for fever, throughout my pain and struggles, I have my journal as an instrument of my healing. It’s like a vessel that helps me receive God’s blessings and graces.

3. It helps me listen to God even more

Lastly, writing has taught me to listen more attentively. More than writing and ranting to God through my journal, this helps me to reflect and dig deeper into what God is really telling me in every situation He leads me.

Like our Mother Mary, journaling helped me to “keep everything into my heart”, to ponder and to hear God’s leading to me.

The aforesaid listing is just some of the good things that journaling has helped me. Boosting my creativity is a bonus and I know day by day, it will reveal more good things to you, to us.

May we find Jesus even in the simple things that we do. May we always be reminded of His unfailing presence just as how written words remain.
